Dion Soich (Partner)
Dion has achieved remarkable success in his career in commercial accounting, culminating in his role as the CFO of a publicly listed company. With over three decades of experience in the field, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge in various crucial areas such as corporate secretarial services, business acquisitions and consolidations, international business practices, financial and operational system implementations, and corporate restructuring.
Dion's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business, and he is a full member of the CPA. In addition to his impressive accounting credentials, Dion holds an insurance broker license and runs a well-established insurance business that caters to both corporate and individual clients. A service that has now been consolidated into the Hall Hanneford business.
His insurance expertise allows him to provide tailored advice and coverage solutions, adapting to the unique needs of each client and industry. Dion's multifaceted skill set and extensive experience make him a valuable asset to any client operating in the business world.

The Tim & Dion story
Having first made acquaintance while representing independent businesses over 15 years ago—during which Dion was among a select group of insurance brokers invited to tender for a substantial business insurance portfolio, it became clear that there was a mutual understanding of the types of issues that could pose risks to businesses. Both parties, being professionally trained and leveraging their individual strengths, naturally led to achieving financially sound and responsible outcomes for their clients.
In 2022, Tim and Dion decided to merge their accounting and insurance businesses, thereby creating a truly unique client support enterprise with aspirations for expansion and a commitment to full-time engagement in this venture. The opportunity to step in as the new partners made possible by Stephen & Chrissie, marked the realisation of a career-long ambition for both Tim and Dion, positioning them as proprietors of a business designed to deliver the exceptional service they have always aspired to offer.
With an 18-year foundation of excellence laid by Stephen and Chrissie, supported by a skilled and experienced team local to the mountain area, our goal is to actively contribute, learn, and advocate for the rich tapestry of history, culture, and community spirit that is synonymous with the mountain and its surrounding regions.
Stephen Hall (Retired / Consultant)
Stephen has over 32 years experience in taxation, accountancy and audit. He graduated from Charles Sturt University with a degree in Business (Accounting) whilst working for Coopers & Lybrand in the Hunter Valley. He is a Chartered Accountant, a tax agent and a member of the National Tax and Accountants Association.
Stephen has a great analytical approach and is able to provide real solutions for clients achieving the best possible taxation outcomes. His friendliness and high level of personal service helps our clients feel at ease and 'looked after' - working with you every step of the way to achieve your financial goals.
Chrissie Hanneford (Retired / Consultant)
Chrissie has worked in the accounting industry for over 25 years. She has degree in Accounting from the University of South Australia. She is an affiliate member of CAANZ, she is a tax agent and a Justice of Peace. In addition she has formal qualifications in Hotel and Catering Administration which she gained while living in the UK.
Chrissie is actively involved in taxation and accounting and oversees our administration team. She is well organized and has a systematic approach to every facet of our firm.
This ensures that the work you have entrusted us with is coordinated, completed within a reasonable time frame, and that behind the scenes our workpapers are consistent, our practice is compliant and that our high standards are maintained.
The Stephen and Chrissie Story
Stephen & Chrissie have worked together for the last 20 years. They met as employees of a mid tier accounting firm in 1999. In 2005 the opportunity arose to purchase an accounting practice on Tamborine Mountain. The business had previously been operated by a sole practitioner and his wife with a client base of 400.
Combining their skills and experience they left the city behind to form their company Stephen Hall & Associates Pty Ltd.
In 2012, the business rebranded to the trading name of Hall Hanneford.
The business currently has a client base exceeding 1000, has a team of 7 and occupies 2 adjoining offices.
